• Classical Concerts by children – 6.30 am
• Arts Workshop for kids – 5 pm (On Jan. 23 & 24 at 4.30 pm). Limited to first 30.
• Painting contest for Kids – 5 pm (On Jan. 23 & 24 at 4.30 pm). Limited to first 30.  Participants need to bring basic art materials and colours.
• Group concerts – 6 pm. On Jan. 21 and 22 Tamil Street plays will follow the group concerts.

KAPALI TEMPLE ZONE:

• Classical dance inside Sri Kapali temple – 6.00 pm.

- Jan. 22 - Students of R. S. Bharatha Natyalaya, disciples of Parvathy Mohan

• Handicrafts Bazaar on all four evenings – 5.30 to 10 pm.
• Traditional Food Street on all four evenings on Sundareswarar Street
• Art Street created by young people. Exhibition, sale and demo. On all four evenings 6 pm onwards.
• Tamil Books Exhibition and sale by leading publishers. On the street along temple tank.
• Photo Exhibition – Theme: Houses of Mylapore (Co-ordinated by Chennai Photowalks). At Lady Sivaswamy School Hall. 6 pm to 9 pm.

PUBLIC TALKS:
At Lady Sivaswamy School campus

At 7 pm. All the four days.
- Jan 21 - 'Classical Dance Legacies of Mylapore' by S. Janaki
- Jan 22 - 'Sculptures and Inscriptions of Mylapore Temples' - by Dr. Chithra Madhavan
- Jan 23 - 'Papanasam Sivan and M K Thyagaraja Bhagvathar' - by D. V. Balakrishnan.
- Jan 24 - 'Palathope - Lawyers' Enclave' - by Shobana Ramkumar
Each talk will be for 15/20 mins and will be illustrated with slides / photos / videos. This will be followed interaction for 20 mins.

WEEKEND EVENTS:

1. CHESS CONTEST for kids :
Jan. 23 and 24, 2010. At 7.45 am.
Venue: Chess Square, Nageswara Rao Park. Open to first 52 children in the 8 to 12 age group.

2. ORIGAMI WORKSHOP for kids :
Jan. 23 and 24, 2010. At 8 am. Venue: Nageswara rao Park. (Open to first 30 children in the 6 to 9 age group on Jan. 23 and 10 to 12 age group on Jan. 24).
Limited to first 30 participants.

3. CREATIVE WRITING CAMP for kids:
Jan. 23 at 3 pm to 6 pm and Jan. 24 at 10 am to 1 pm.
Venue : Lady Sivaswamy School, Sundareswarar Street.

The Creative Writing Camp ( open to kids in class 4 to 12) is open for registration. Rs.100 is the fee - to be paid at the Mylapore Times office ( 2498 2244 - ct Prema here).
Choose the Jan 23 camp ( 3 to 6 pm ) or the Sunday one ( 10 am to 1 pm). You think of a story idea, flesh it out, write it and illustrate it with your colleagues.
Editors will guide you. Your work of fiction will be printed as a book in 48 hrs. This event is held in conjunction with Prodigy Books.

4. ART CAMP for kids:
Jan. 23 and Jan. 24 at 3.45 pm
Venue : 'Ther' near Sri Kapali temple

Two artists from France who are here as part of the Bonjour India Fest.
Antonio and Jose-Maria specialise in creating art in public spaces. They use photos, paper, artworks and the written word in various forms to create works on public walls. And they have done this in many places outside Paris. They will work with kids on space around the ther at Sri Kapali Temple.
The action starts at 4 pm on Jan 23, Sat. Kids interested to draw/paint can come with pads and pencils and paint brushes and create a work of art that will go up on 2 walls on Jan 24 evening. Please assemble at the 'ther' at 3.45 pm on Jan. 23
